On Sunday the 22nd of October, the North of England Community joined together for a regional service.
The North of England community gathered in Sheffield last weekend for a regional service with a message delivered by our national director, Michael B. Over 30 people squeezed into the beautiful Sheffield home of our hosts Sojin and Ayami J.
The North of England community has held a number of successful youth events and workshops recently, in partnership with their northern neighbours in Scotland. We will also join the Scottish Christmas retreat in Dundee in December.
In his message, Dr Michael spoke on the topic “Gratitude, a Hidden Superpower” illustrated with quotes from the gospel of Luke, the words of the Buddha, a famous saying by Dietrich Bonhoefer, and selections from True Father’s autobiography, “As a Peace-loving Global Citizen“.
“It is easy to be grateful when things are going well in life,” said Dr. Michael, “but it is so much more powerful to be grateful in the face of adversity.” This does not mean accepting things that are wrong and doing nothing about it, but it does mean that our attitude of faith and belief can change a dark night into a bright morning.
The next North England service will be held in Manchester during the first week of December. Please come join us, everyone welcome!
