This past weekend, a Celebration of Marriage, Family and Faith was co-hosted by FFWPU-UK and UPF, bringing together families, couples, and guests for an afternoon focused on the value of marriage and family life.

The event began with a shared lunch, offering a relaxed space for fellowship and conversation. This was followed by a programme that combined reflection, testimony, and celebration. An invocation was given by Ms Datta Shah of the Jain community, setting the tone for an interfaith and inclusive gathering.

Rev. Dr David Hanna delivered a presentation titled “A Blessing to the World,” exploring how marriage is honoured across cultures and why strong families remain essential for building peaceful communities. His message connected both the spiritual and practical dimensions of family life.

A central part of the programme was the Interfaith Blessing Ceremony, officiated by Rev. William and Ruth Haines, with support from Dr David and Patricia Earle. This offered participants an opportunity to reflect on and renew their commitment to their relationships and families.

The afternoon also included a musical performance by Mrs Julie Dyer and the presentation of Exemplary Family Awards. Reflections shared by award recipients and attendees added a personal and meaningful dimension to the event.

Overall, the gathering provided a space for both celebration and thoughtful engagement, highlighting the continued importance of marriage and family within our wider community.
