About
Building lasting peace by strengthening families
What is FFWPU?
We, the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), are a global movement striving to realise God’s Dream: humankind living together in peace as one family.
We are a community of families and individuals who deeply care about each other and this world.
In the United Kingdom, FFWPU-UK is registered as a charity: a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO).

The Mission
Blessed Families
The Change
God’s Dream becomes a human reality when Blessed Families build communities of true love and serve the nation.
We believe that peace doesn’t start at the level of governments. Peace begins at home, with each individual and within the family.
The family is our first school of love, shaping how we relate not only to one another but to our communities and the wider world.
At the same time, we recognise that human effort alone is not enough to create families rooted in true, enduring love. That’s why we emphasise connecting to God’s love and guiding principles as the source of harmony and growth.
Through educational programmes, community support, and the Marriage Blessing, the Family Federation supports individuals and couples of all backgrounds in building strong and loving families.
The Blessing—initiated by the True Parents—helps couples anchor their relationships in God’s love, enabling them to grow into true parents who can positively impact their families, their communities, and ultimately the world.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are we a church?
FFWPU is not a church in the traditional sense. We believe that the family is the only institution created by God. Rooted in a deep love for Jesus and True Parents, our movement and community seek to transcend denominational and religious boundaries.
We believe that God has inspired different religions, denominations, churches and spiritual practices to awaken humanity to the reality of God as our Heavenly Parent. This can be likened to parents choosing different schools for their children according to each child’s character and needs.
What does this mean in practice?
People from many religious backgrounds, including clergy and other religious leaders, participate in FFWPU Sunday services, educational workshops, Holy Marriage Blessings and other activities.
People who join FFWPU-UK are neither required nor encouraged to leave their existing religious affiliations behind.
At the same time, many members and FFWPU communities continue traditions and practices established during the Unification Church era. These include gathering for Sunday services and using the title “pastor” for volunteers and employees who care for and lead local communities.
Why do we hold Sunday services?
The purpose of our Sunday services is to express our love for and gratitude to God together. When we come together in this spirit, we create a welcoming environment in which we can be ourselves, deepen our relationships and support one another. Local Sunday services are the spiritual heartbeat of our community life.
What is the core teaching of the FFWPU?
The Divine Principle is the core teaching of FFWPU. It explores God’s original ideal for creation, the Human Fall, and God’s work of restoration throughout history.
It teaches that God’s Principle can be understood through the natural world, the lives of holy men and women, and sacred scripture.
At FFWPU-UK, we study, share and teach the Divine Principle, drawing on the words and teachings of True Parents: True Father, Dr Sun Myung Moon, and True Mother, Dr Hak Ja Han. Throughout their lives, they have explored and taught ever-deeper aspects of the Divine Principle.
A central text is Exposition of Divine Principle, prepared by President Hyo Won Eu under the guidance of True Father, Sun Myung Moon. The current English edition was published in 1996 and is based on the Korean Wolli Kangron, first published in 1966.
Another important work presenting the Divine Principle is Chambumo-Ron, which is being developed by Korean scholars drawing on the life experience, words and guidance of True Mother, Holy Mother Han.
Our community values the Holy Bible, other sacred texts, World Scripture and various compilations of True Parents’ speeches as important sources of spiritual guidance that deepen our understanding of God’s Principle.
Who are True Parents?
True Parents, Dr Sun Myung Moon and Dr Hak Ja Han, are the co-founders of FFWPU. Through the Holy Marriage Blessing, they open the way for couples and families to connect to God’s love, life and lineage as originally intended.
Through their words, teachings and lived example, they show us how to live with the heart of a parent and in the shoes of a servant. In this way, we seek to transform our neighbourhoods and communities by becoming true parents and Tribal Messiahs.
True Father is the Lord of the Second Advent. He inherited the mantle of Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son, and came as the New Adam and True Father.
True Mother is the Only Begotten Daughter, the New Eve and True Mother. We also refer to her as Holy Mother Han.
Alongside their providential significance, our relationships with True Parents take different and deeply personal forms, reflecting the nature of love and human relationships. Many brothers and sisters in our UK community have been deeply moved by True Father and True Mother. At our services and workshops, we often share stories about their distinctive personalities and the ways in which their example has transformed us and continues to inspire us to live more authentically.
